He's trying to pull a McGreevey... by mischaracterizing his far deeper criminal liability as only a matter of "coming out as gay."

McGreevey was the NJ governor who announced (along side his show-wife) his resignation when it surfaced that the guy (Cipel) he appointed as New Jersey's homeland security director was his gay-lover. But that was not the big scandal. It was that...

1) Cipel was also a foreign citizen with no security/police/intelligence experience, who was in the US on a temporary work visa.

2) McGreever had met Cipel in Israel and only a few months later Cipel was living in NJ and shacking up with McGreevey in NJ - with a work visa sponsored by Charles Kushner (Jared's father) .

3) Kushner was also a long time McGreevey patron - and was then indicted (and about to be convicted) for corrupting New Jersey politicians and retaliating against witnesses.

The interesting message in Spacey's statement is what wasn't said. He didn't say "why that's preposterous - I would never be attracted to an underage person, let alone make advances on them"

I don’t know about “young people” ( I was even old when I started on FR, 13-years ago). But I did present the facts on McGreevey and they did not include the jail time that was appropriate.

When I used to travel to London once a year, a friend of mine, a gay theater professional, told me Spacey used to prowl a particular park at night for rough trade. A lot of rough trade are underaged boys. Spacey once showed up with black eyes from the wrong encounter.
