A lot of SEC fans outside of Gainesville will be disappointed to hear this.
I wonder if Chip Kelly will get back into college coaching?
Yes McElwain had quarterbacks, he just tried to force them to run an offense they weren’t suited to run. We’ve seen it before. Quarterback stinks at UF only to transfer and look good elsewhere.
One quarterback gets busted for using substances and it just so happened to be the one on Mac’s watch. That’s lack of systemic control. Guarantee it never would have happened with Saban.
I agree with both statements, but a former coach, who shall not be named, made a habit of covering up his player’s misdeeds. One turned out to be a murdering psychopath.
Mac made it clear, he would not put up with bad behaviour. As you know, not protecting players goes against a long tradition in these parts.
Mac wanted an offence first team, which isn’t SEC style football. Alabama wins because they recruit top talent and grind the opponent into the ground, on both sides of the ball. Offense first teams get destroyed in the SEC.
