The Yankees have gone 8 years without a World Series title. Probably time for a change. The team did very well this year though.

Yankees are lucky to have Joe Girardi. Game 2 of ALDS probably did it.

The team was performing at least one year ‘ahead of schedule’ with all the young players.

Dusty Baker to Yankees, Girardi to Nationals. Isn’t that how these manager musical chairs usually work?

This was really an odd story. The story makes it sound like the Yankees decided not to bring him back, but over the last couple of months there was some question about whether Girardi even wanted to return. It sounded like he was getting burned out from the job.

The Yankees will never hire Dusty Baker. He’s a three-time Manager of the Year but the biggest flaw on his resume is his awful postseason performance in the past.

Guy is a real class act. Looks like he has a great relationship with his players. Guessing he is putting family first.

Sorry to see him go!

Don Mattingly would look great in a Yankee uniform once again.

As a Yankee Fan, I don’t want a cry baby like Baker as the manager. Go with Tony Pena or bench coach Rob Thomson.

Yeah it sounds like he was ready to move on.

OK works for me but I doubt the Yankees would have any interest in Dusty.

Yeah I think he did a very good job succeeding Joe Torre.

Wonder if the Nats will take a flyer on Girardi. Although the Nats are notorious for not spending the money on managers.

Reports are saying it was a combination. Yanks wanted a change and Girardi did too.

Don Mattingly was the first name I thought of as well.

Thought Baker was a pitcher destroyer. Probably still is.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he took a year or two off and went to the broadcast booth for a while.

He’s apparently made some baffling decisions in big spots in the post-season, too.

I was thinking George Costanza. He’s already in the club house.

Donny Baseball has my vote. He worked with Joe Torre for a long time and did a good job with the Dodgers. It's time to see how he would do with the Yankees.
