Vancouver (aka Hong-Couver) is the California of Canada. Business took me to Calgary once a month for five years. They love America in Alberta (the Texas of Canada).
I asked a Canadian friend if Alberta would ever vote to join the USA, his comment was:
“It wouldn’t pass, but it would be darned close.”
I have heard of the term HONGCOUVER since the late 90’s. They thought it was a joke back then. The joke is on the white man because the Asians now rule Vancouver. And yes, I love Alberta. Been to Banff 3 times but I prefer Blackcomb..even after the tourists ruined Whistler after the Olympics.
