In before the Python references.
Drugs are a terrible thing. That is really what is at the root of this, I guarantee it.
Cue the Monty Python spam sketch.
Not likely Muzzies, this time.
Fried spam sandwiches in hunting camp. Yeah, buddy.
Never know when the NORKs or the urban ferals get out of hand.
Don’t miss the Spam Museum in Austin, MN!

A SPAM Lamb.
What! the hawaiians can culturally appropriate? We can’t?
Spam is SALT adulterated.
Over salty food is generally so you don’t taste the spoilage. Adulterate.
GRILLED CHEESE WITH VELVEETA and SPAM
During the Carter years, we prepped up with three cases of SPAM. About five years later we went on a four-week trip “boxing the Union”** and decided to use them up.
We had SPAM for breakfast, lunch and supper almost the whole time. My boys were in the 5-7 year old range and after about a week of that diet, they started to cry when they saw the wife break out yet ANOTHER can.
Neither one will touch the stuff today, so naturally I send them these articles when they pop up. They are not amused.
It’s 1 pm PST as I write this and damned if I don’t feel like whipping up a SPAM sandwich now.
** Oceanside, CA to Calgary, Canada; to Prince Edward Island via their transcontinental route; re-entered at Niagara Falls, NY; down to Disney World in FL, then U.S. 20 back home.
When I and the wife were in Hawaii many years ago, a bellhop explained to us that SPAM was the state food of Hawaii. They couldn’t get enough. We laughed at the notion until we got to the local Walmart for some economically priced food, and found that they had whole SPAM endcaps in the store.
I’m gonna have to be Debbie Downer-this “food” item was not served at home when I was a kid, but I grew up on a ranch-when I was in college, it was “dorm food” sometimes when I was really broke, but I never ate it after that-but I see that a lot of people here did/do like to eat it. To each their own preferences, but I still call the stuff what my 1st husband did-Sh** Posing As Meat...
Reporters do not want to go to the trouble to actually tell what is going on. Spam, other canned meats, liquor- basically anything non perishable that people will buy, are being stolen to be resold at small or “black market” stores. Pretty easy to make money with a store if you can get the items for free for resale. Spam is catchy in the title because no one can figure out why people would steal Spam, the truth is many things are stolen to stock the black market stores.
We have the same issues here on the mainland in many cities, except what is happening here is they get food stamps through fraud and use them to buy products for their stores.
If we had real journalists perhaps they could investigate and find out the need for black market stores.
Trans-ocean sailors stock Spam, and there’s Hawaiistuck out far from everywhere else.
