Bob Gimlin and Roger Patterson were riding though Buff Creek in the California wilderness on horseback (as you do) when they claim to have come across the hairy creature.
Gimlin claims he saw the beast perched on a rock.

He deduced that Bigfoot is a female because of ‘the mammary glands’. Asked whether it had breasts, he replied: ‘Oh yeah. But this was happening so fast that I never even thought about that. That was all put together after people started watching the footage.
Gimlin said the footage has been thoroughly investigated by scientists all over the world, and still no answers can be provided as to Bigfoot’s existence. But he believes she’s real, and he’s trying to protect her. He added he doesn’t want people to hunt her, or be frightened of her. Sightings in the area are still commonly reported.
