Vampire scare in Malawi has killed at least 8 people

Since September, a vampire scare has triggered mob violence in Malawi that has killed at least eight people accused of being bloodsuckers. The vampire rumors appear to have originated in neighboring Mozambique, although it’s not clear what sparked them. Belief in witchcraft is widespread in rural Malawi, a country in the southern section of Africa. Authorities say they are struggling to convince the population that the vampire rumors are not true.

Apparently vampires have no power over them either.
(I thought they couldn’t do sunlight only after they had eaten after midnight.)
Consequently, as a kid, when I saw this movie, I felt compelled to figure out what time zone the movie was in. It occurred to me that these little pets must have come from Asia. How they know when “after midnight” was. I remember thinking, “I would NOT travel with those things.”
