Humanism and Existentialism are a religion too. Humans instinctively have religion. Some have a theistic religion. Others have a humanistic religion. Science is about seeking truth. You can’t do that when you exclude a possibility. But, there are plenty of theories that include a not-yet-proven possibility.

Astronomy excludes the possibility that a unicorn created the solar system. So much for science, eh?
