Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyongo on Thursday accused Harvey Weinstein of making a move on her that she dodged by giving him a massage to avoid something potentially worse.
Back in 2011 when the 12 Years a Slave actress was still a student at Yale, Nyongo said she met powerful movie producer at a movie festival and he invited her back to his home in Westport, Connecticut, to allegedly watch a film he had just produced.
Fifteen minutes into the film, Weinstein with his kids at house at the time allegedly made his creepy move.

I wonder, did Weinstein ever try to grope a Conservative Republican Woman?
I can’t think of any in Hollywood, maybe that Gal from Everybody Loves Raymond, but that’s about it.
Of course, we would have heard about his injuries if he did.

“Harvey led me into a bedroom his bedroom and announced that he wanted to give me a massage. I thought he was joking at first, Nyongo wrote in a New York Times op-ed piece. He was not. For the first time since I met him, I felt unsafe. I panicked a little and thought quickly to offer to give him one instead: It would allow me to be in control physically, to know exactly where his hands were at all times. Nyongo had studied massage as part of her drama school curriculum at Yale and figured this was her best move to control the suddenly scary situation. I felt I could rationalize giving him one and keep a semblance of professionalism in spite of the bizarre circumstance. He agreed to this and lay on the bed. I began to massage his back to buy myself time to figure out how to extricate myself from this undesirable situation, she wrote.”
I'm sorry, and she was probably very young, but when she left that house she didn't go straight to the police. She kept quiet because she was ambitious, and like so many in the world, put career before principle. Others likely paid the price for that calculation.

I assume that was consensually with your wife, not coercing a potential employee to do it?

Perv and the Juice.
Sounds like a 70s TV cop team.

I will probably get flamed for this, but it seems to me a common thread through many of these stories is a female who wants to work in the industry, who when confronted with this, instead of just leaving, is performing some kind of calculation, some kind of line to walk to get what this man is able to offer them.
She went back to his house with him?
It is despicable, but is this rape? This sounds like something other than rape.
I understand it means they probably won’t get hired for one of his jobs if they just turn around and leave/tell the police/whatever, but is that rape? Is is sexual assault if she, a grown woman in 2011 (in this example) goes willingly back to his house and he makes advances, however unwanted?
I am pretty sure he is guilty of using his power and prestige to coerce starlets into having sex with him, but since he isn’t her boss, she is a grown woman...this just sounds strange to me.
