New York Times columnist at large Maureen Dowd was seemingly critical of Paltrow in an column titled, Harvey Weinstein, Hollywoods Oldest Horror Story, in which she wrote that the actress became the first lady of Miramax even after the time she alleged the Miramax co-founder had harassed her.
I cannot remain silent while Maureen Dowd disparages my daughter, Gwyneth Paltrow, for the manner in which she chose to handle Harvey Weinsteins attempt at a sexual encounter when she was 22, the 71-year-old actress wrote.
Gwyneth did not put aside her qualms to become the first lady of Miramax back then, as Ms. Dowd would have it. She continued to hold her own and insist that Mr. Weinstein treat her with respect, Danner continued.
She had learned from her father, the producer and director Bruce Paltrow, how to stand up for herself. Bruce received the first Diversity Award from the Directors Guild for helping women and minorities in our business. His daughter wasnt the only woman he taught to fight for herself.
I suggest that the pundits stop casting aspersions on the women who have confronted unwanted sexual advances in the manner each sees fit and concentrate on the constructive ways to prevent this behavior in the future, she wrote.

Blythe Danner was really pretty, I thought.
Sad the stupidity.
And I doubt either are being honest about their respective rises to the top.

Say, you didn't happen to sit in on any of those, ahem, auditions, did you?
Or participate in them?

Jennifer Lawrence is probably next to get thrown under the bus, she was heavily backed by Harvey for Silver Linings Playbook, and got the job via Skype audition

A mother never likes to see her daughter criticized. Ever!!!! Id think poorly of her if she didnt stick up for her daughter. Only a crappy mom would agree with this article.

The critics have no idea how much power this slimeball wielded until recently. He could make or break an actress’s career. That’s a lot of pressure on a young actress trying to break into a business that is notoriously hard to get into.

Yeah, me too. I even watch her in some dopey commercial that's airing these days.

She played Hawkeye’s love interest in an episode of M*A*S*H, that’s what I mostly remember her from.

Asked a Hollywood stuntman buddy of mine who the biggest casting couch slut mongers are in town. Without hesitation he named Scarlett Johansenn , Gwenyth Paltrow and Jennifer Lawrence as human general disease petri dishes.

Agreed. Further, I think this who-knew-when stuff is going a bit far. Harvey Weinstein hit on Gwyneth Paltrow; she told him to back off; her boyfriend told him to back off; HW didn't try anything again. Why should Paltrow, who had acted sensibly and morally, have turned down acting opportunities just because she knew HW was a pig? Paltrow doesn't allege HW “assaulted” her, so what would have been the point in calling a press conference to announce that a director had — to use an old fashioned expression — mad a pass at her?

rumour was that Harvey's phone left unsecure was the celebrity 'cloud hack...'
all of the evidence is still there in a good image search

Bruce received the first Diversity Award from the Directors Guild for helping women and minorities in our business. Yeah, well, Meryl Streep once referred to Harvey Weinstein as "God", so, don't let lofty titles and awards fool you.

Gwyneth Paltrow did not “have to break into” Hollywood, she was born into Hollywood and thus the golden ticket . She could have immediately spoken up but be assured her parents, knowing the ropes, discouraged it.
