I am kind of amazed. I thought this was 100% clean sport in the frozen outdoors. If they found one case there are others. Opiods relive pain and will ordinarily slow down the dog.....But since the dog is tied to others he has to keep up with the team. A nasty strategy that can kill the dog I would think.

The test was six hours after the race. Blood test indicated Tramadol was administered up to 15 hours before the test. More likely the hurting dogs were given Tramadol right after the race. But that doesn’t tell us anything about before or during the race, which takes about 10 or so days.
