The decorations are out and Halloween is two weeks away but theres controversy at Boyden Elementary School in Walpole. The school will not be having its annual Halloween costume parade this year.
I think its a lot of political correctness, a Walpole woman said. I think its a shame because Halloween is the funnest day of the year next to Christmas for children.

In a message to parents the school principal says, the costume parade is out of our ordinary routine and can be difficult for many students. Also, the parade is not inclusive of all the students and it is our goal each and every day to ensure all students individual differences are respected.
On Friday the school will have a Halloween party after school hours, but the school says Halloween itself will be Black and Orange spirit day.
So to be inclusive all the kids are told to wear the same colors. Sort of like the scene from "V for Vendetta" where all the so called freedom fighters all march in unison wearing Guy Fawkes masks.
I can’t stand Halloween. We barely acknowledged it when our kids were younger, but this is just flat out stupid.
Why doesn’t the school just issue brown shirts and teach the children to goose-step and be done with it...
Maybe there are afraid of offending wiccans coming into town from Salem.
I always make it point to work late at the office on Halloween.
Schools
1999: The Fundie Xians want to cancel Halloween because they say it is offensive. Oppose them!!
2017: We are canceling Halloween because it is offensive. Obey us
We just go about our business.
Why not just have “Pussy Hat” day instead?
Let’s Go Flyers!
What exactly makes a Halloween parade “difficult” for kids?
Good grief.....
How racist can they get? Orange is a color of prison jumpsuits. And they associate that color with “black”. Someone needs to be fired!!!!!!!
/sarc (but no more outrageous than many actual charges of racism)
Orange is offensive to Irish Catholics....
In the name of inclusiveness, we will exclude everything out of our very strict limits.
Do the Muslim girls get to wear their moms burkas?
Anyone sending their kids to public schools need to get used to this continual abuse of their kids in the name of PCism.
Good point!
a couple of miles up the street from me.

But spirits are ghosts.. reeeee!
Cincinnati Bengal fans, eh?
