Here’s another crazy idea. Don’t borrow money if you don’t want debt. Debt and borrowing money tend to be connected in some weird random way

Back when I went to college in the late 60s, my parents weren't well off but they taught me the lesson of living within your means and don't take on debt you can't pay back.

So I had to work three part-time jobs to pay for my own tuition every semester. My parents did help me with some necessities, like books, but otherwise I paid my own way.

I graduated with honors in three years with a business degree and went on active duty in the Air Force afterwards without owing anybody a dime.

So why are these kids today burdening themselves and their parents with debt loads larger than any of them will ever be able to payback? For a degree that will not guarantee them a job that pays enough to service their own student loans?

Student loans are a scam and not needed to get a degree. Unless you don't know what you're doing to begin with.

Economics should be mandatory for all students in their first year of school. Then maybe they will understand what my parents taught me before I went to college.

Here's an even crazier idea:

Work for a few years between High School and College and SAVE YOUR MONEY like I did so you can actually PAY for a chunk of college first before going!

And gee, how about having a JOB while going to college too?! That's what I did -- graduated with less than $10k in debt and paid that off in two years after graduating.

Imagine the possibilities!
