On the other hand, your reaction here is a helpful illustration of bureaucratic screwups and stubbornness I was trying to explain to you before.
Bureaucracy does something wrong - when it’s pointed out, they deny it and double down, being stuck on stupid. If/when they finally realize they were wrong, they don’t want to admit it. There is also the issue of legal liability as a result of the bureaucratic clusterschmuck. At least you don’t have to worry about that last part.
