Established in 1910, the Boy Scouts have long stood on tradition, but in recent years, the organization has yielded to a changing culture by revising its admission policy to permit openly gay Scouts and adult volunteers, as well as transgender children who identify as boys to join. Mark Hancock, chief executive officer of Trail Life USA, said the admittance of girls into the Boy Scouts of America is part of a growing “war on boys” that views the sexes as interchangeable and masculinity as something undesirable. He said the decision Wednesday is just latest step in the Boy Scouts’ progressive evolution. “The Boy Scouts seems to have developed a pattern of making decisions that depart from their traditional values,” Mr. Hancock said. “And once you lose your way, your moral compass, the next thing to go is the courage and conviction to navigate when things get tough. And in this culture, with the gender-blurring that’s going on, I think it’s bad for boys. And I think it’s bad for girls.”

I was reminded of this quote by the late columnist Charley Reese. He wrote it about Clinton era health care policy but it is appropriate for many things progressives clamor for.

I liked the way the writer pivoted from that obvious point directly to the new alternative to the abomination
If the boy scouts admit girls, then what’s the point?
Shouldn’t they change their name to Youth Group USA, or something generic along those lines? If they abandon the core idea that this organization is for boys and young men, then what is the reason for being?
Will big numbers of girls want to join?
The Girl Scouts has turned into a far Left organization. The Trojan Horse of admitting girls into Boy Scouts will seek to transform the values of the Boy Scouts.
We already have a co-ed youth organization. It is Camp Fire, which was originally Camp Fire Girls.
Actually Scouting is a UK tradition that came to America
Scouting in England is coed but there is also a separate female Girl Guide organization ( ditto for Canada)
I dont consider the World Scouting Organization to be “ pussified” - do you?
Been to an international jamboree and seen the Scouts doing their thing?

The BSA is about the last World Organization Scout member to go coed
Like everything else, they’ll be known as the Gender Neutral Scouts.
The gays are going to rename it to “Scouting for Boys.”

Thats not what they’re called in the over 100 other World Scout Organization member countries where scouting is coed
How about just Scouts USA ?

World Scouting is and has been coed for over a decade almost everywhere except here
I think it will work out well. Sea Scouts and Explorer Scouts get great reviews from active members as well as former members.
And GS doesnt have enough high adventure leaders or camps to lead them
American youth are on the path to perdition!
It’ll be fine over time
Ive spent time with Scouts overseas and work now with both GS and coed Venture Crew for ages 14-21.which most of the girls do both
But its nice for the older girls who want to do Philmont, Sea Base and other high adventure activities to have the opportunity
They keep up just fine - or lead the way

The Girl Scouts will welcome boys - if they dress as girls and go around saying the word “transitioning.”
Say if you die on your feet, how about donating your boots to a Scout pack? Someone can use them

My sister and her family are and have been BIG into Scouts.
My bro in law is really peeved about the admission of girls, but never made a peep about the homos or the “transgendered”
To me, the above are waaay worse than girls.
