A Cuban-American radio host and Irish politicians have called on An Post, Irelands postal service, to explain their decision to launch a 1 stamp featuring a portrait of Che Guevara by Irish artist Jim Fitzpatrick.
Ninoska Perez Castellón, a prominent member of the Cuban exile community in Miami and radio host, told RTEs "Morning Ireland" show, the stamp honoring Che Guevara would celebrate a man who slaughtered so many people.
An Posts plan was announced on Friday to coincide with Mondays 50th anniversary of Che Guevaras execution (October 9).
Castellón, who works at Miami 710 Radio, said regardless of the fact that the stamp was an iconic image, created by an Irish artist, it represented a man who went to Cuba to kill and failed in everything he did.
She added that there are many families in south Florida whose fathers were killed by Che and said his world-famous profile was propaganda myth created by communism.
While speaking with the Irish radio station it was pointed out to Castellón that the Irish American President Andrew Jacksons image had been used on the $20 bill in the USA despite his controversial history. She pointed out that Jackson, also of Irish descent, had not been a terrorist.

Read the comments! The country that took in millions of poor Paddies (including my own) is again vilifying the United States. The lack of gratitude, the flagrant bad manners of the Irish should be brought to Mr. Trump’s attention. We could do with less of them. They crawl all over NYC - legal and illegal - and are a cause of consternation when brought here on exchange student visas.
Burn the Irish
Che’s image when worn shows the extreme ignorance of youth and the Looney Left. He was a vile creature who like to kill people. Bolivian government ended that. Felix Rodriquez helped capture him.
Che’ was el Jefe’s executioner.
They’re burning themselves.
Some of my ancestors claimed Scot/Irish descent. I don’t have proof, but believe the family tradition. ( I do have DNA evidence it is true, with a lot of others mixed.)
You cannot judge people by race. Only by their actions and beliefs.
Northern Irish appear to have more smarts...
Well, it’s not like he was COLUMBUS or anything....
Why wouldn’t a country built on terrorism (and which sought to expand using communist terrorists) honor a fellow terrorist?
Yes, and a reputation for toughness. Also for being good neighbors.
I have no use for Irish Lefties. The entire Deep South was influenced by Scot/Irish immigration.
My daughter is a member of DAR. And eligible for the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.
Judgment by race is a mistake. We are American and Texan. I feel very strong allegiance to both.
Actually, I can do what I want - and the Irish are a miserable people - left wing, anti-American fools. They adore Che, Arafat (I can remember when they absolutely adored HIM) and have restaurants named after Mao. And they abuse the country that has always (and continues to) give them a home. I despise ingratitude.
Hey Ireland, cork that bottle. You do stupid stuff when you drink.
Mass murderer in quotes. As if there are doubts?
GTH godless communists
Ah, the Irish. 700+ years of bad decisions
S. Why stop now?
Maybe An Post will honor Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot. Maybe they’re starting a series.
“Northern Irish appear to have more smarts...”
Of course they do, they’re descended from Scotsmen who emigrated to the Emerald Isle. Not that today’s Scotland has anything to brag about, they’re just as muzzified and secularized as the rest of UK.
But the persnicketiness of the Irish has never changed.
The Irish lefties still like calling him “Che Guevara Lynch” either way.
And the commies were among the first terrorists of the last century too.
The normal Irish (of the time) merely wanted home rule, which they were getting as soon as the First World War came to an endbut the communists pushed for full independence, and ended up prolonging the war with their stupid 1916 rebellion, basically siding with the Axis by doing that.
Vast majority of Irish forget that they had full representation in the Westminster parliament. Irish politicians had power to direct the course of the British Empire. Sadly, their ideology led it into the proverbial “dustbin of history”, along with English, Scottish and Welsh politicians who were sympathetic to that left-wing garbage.
And the “Republic” of Ireland has not been independent since 1972; the Third Amendment to Ireland’s constitution puts European Union law supreme above Irish law.
