I was over at a range with my nephew who was firing an AR and it threw a couple of brass casings my way, one went down my shirt next yo the skin and it was hot, but it wasn’t crazy burning rug hot.
“but it wasnt crazy burning rug hot.”
That was my suspicion. Surely the internals of the gun could get crazy hot but an ejected round, sure, very hot to the touch but not set-stuff-on-fire hot.
However, did any smoke alarms go off in the hotel room? I fairly much buy the point about lots of smoke from that many fired rounds.
That was my first thought. I had a M1 Garand casing go down my shirt the same way, and it was hot enough to make me jump, but not hot enough to burn. I wouldn’t think they would burn a carpet.
Any other Freepers know?
