For the nth time, there were no security cameras in the guest areas of the 32nd floor. In fact, I think it is standard practice In Vegas NOT to have security cameras in the guest room areas.

It isn’t very hard to figure out why that may be the case.

And there may have been a possibility that another person escaped via stairwell UP to the Four Seasons, which starts on the 35th floor of the same building.

There are cameras in all elevators and stairwell exits,lobby etc. It is not possible to avoid them. That is why the police now say they know he was alone in the room during the shooting. They can easily see every guest that went up in the elevator or accessed the stairs. In most vip suites they have a seperate elevator with a guard so you can’t even go up to the rooms without a key card. I don’t remember if that’s the case at Mandalay Bay- once you live in Vegas for awhile all the hotels sort of blend into one big swirl of ugly carpeting and gaudy gold accents.
