Of course, this is unusual because alcohol is not only free but encouraged for gamblers at Paddock's level.

Paddock viewed gambling as his occupation. It's not unusual to not drink at work.

I think I’ve seen at least one FB photo of them drinking.

If he was on anti anxiety meds, he probably should not have been drinking.

The pictures that have been released of Paddock may not be accurate representations of his usual demeanor.

Someone has tried very hard to paint him as a total loser.

I think it highly likely that Paddock was making money by illicit means. That could go a long ways towards explaining his standoffishness.

I Am still not convinced he was the shooter.

Maybe they want us to think paddock was a muslim...?
Maybe to cover up that he was a stinking leftist who gave big bucks to Hillary?
Just wild speculation on my part.

The money came from somewhere, that is where the investigation is probably focused. He was a "defense contract auditor" in the early 80's(?) just before he seemed to find his path to riches. That seems to hold potential for illegal activities, especially for a "numbers guy". Bribery? Maybe blackmail?

Then to wash the cash, he comes up with idea of gambling, where he reports $5 million of "earnings" in 2015. Easy conversion while living the high life.

Ping to add more confusion to the mix.

As other posters noted, the photo we saw of him drinking shots could have been pre-conversion, IF there really was a conversion.

Many reports contradict a teetotaler. “He was also a heavy drinker, known to demand high-end cognac...” Who knows? Time changes a man. It does explain the valium...detox.

"....Of course, this is unusual because alcohol is not only free but encouraged for gamblers at Paddock's level...."

Only alcohol drinkers would think this is "unusual".

Only people who don't drink alcohol, like myself, don't think this unusual at all, whether or not the casino encourages it or makes it "free" for the big gamblers.

If you don't drink, you don't drink.

He’s pictured with a shot glass in his hand. I doubt it contained Harvey Weinstein’s favorite of Diet Coke.
