“four laser treatments will take care of that leg hair. They are painful”
I admit to curiosity about that.
How painful are they?
The laser "zaps" the hair follicles that are actively growing, causing the cells in the follicles to literally explode. You hear a snap each time the laser is pulsed. Each pulse only lasts a fraction of a second, but there are many of them because the laser only covers a small area, and there was a large area to cover.
I would liken the feeling to being hit with a board studded with small nails or thumbtacks, over and over.
I've had my bikini line and legs done. With the legs, the clinic offered a free treatment a few months after the four treatments were done in order to catch any stragglers. I did not take them up on that. A couple of stragglers did survive the treatment, but they are barely noticeable. I have not had to shave for more than ten years, and I love being able to wear a dress any time I want without having to go through the shaving ritual first.
The laser treatment works best if you have light skin and dark hair.
