All hair colors lighten in the sun....assuming its not dyed
I am from a family of blondes with lots of Scandinavian blood and I never saw hair on the legs that dark except for those who werent real blondes

It’s a weird world.
Went out with an ol girl once whose leg hair grew so fast it was unbelievable. She’d shave her legs before going to bed and by morning there would be a heavy growth of stubble. She dulled my razor every time she came over.
It was like dating a werewolf from those old horror movies. I
quit dating her when her ex-husband threatened me with a French bread knife at her apartment and then started a fight in a popular disco after she kept chasing after me when they reconciled.
I am a natural blond, almost white haired as a kid.

In the case of Western Civ that may be true, but there have been cultures that had none of those things but still favored selective removal of hair.
