I'll second that. Why would anyone listen to the complaints of somebody who doesn't have enough respect for our nation to stand for the national anthem? Plenty of people have issues with current politics, that's part of living in a republic where citizens' votes determine the law and government policies. But everyone should respect the system, our nation, and the sacrifices of those who got us this far.

Does Marcus Peters really think it is appropriate to dishonor the men who served in the 54th Massachusetts Regiment? He should read about William Harvey Carney, who earned the Medal of Honor for actions he took to protect the unit's flag. Carney said "Boys, I only did my duty; the old flag never touched the ground!"

Regardless of what he thinks about contemporary issues, respect for William Carney should be enough to get Marcus Peters off his butt.
