There is a vlogger on youtube who makes the point (with data) that the USGS withholds earthquake reports as it sees fit. This vlogger is good (best prediction of earthquakes I've ever seen) and has his own methods of earthquake prediction that has really gotten the USGS quite frustrated with him - some of their scientists criticize him publicly. He usually covers the whole planet so if you want to check for USA, read the comments - usually someone lists the time there for USA.
