Football was an AMERICAN quasi-religion and they committed
the biggest sacrilege.
And that, in itself, is a problem (or sacrilege).
Sunday is the Lord's day, and we've turned it into a day of watching minstrels entertain us with their skills. We turned them into American idols, and forgotten our roots - and Who deserves our attention and praise.
In a way, Kapernick deserves a few complements for helping some Americans (not all) shake the Sports/TV watching fix and idolatry.
Understanding that many of these idols are thugs, or arrogant Prima donnas, that despise their 'fans' (as well as this Nation) - helps.
