TV show from the 1950s Rep. Allen West has spoken from time to time about the isms worming their way into American politics.
When he first began on this path, this particular TV show was remembered. Thank you A.W. Keep in mind this was made and seen before the current general population was born. There are those who do remember and have been watchful for such an exposure to how times have changed: communism; socialism; film industry, politics, fbi, media. The days of long ago are certainly not the same in today's world.
This was supposed to be Lee Harvey Oswald’s favorite TV show.
s/b “have been” his fave TV show.
True - this show had a very big impact on Oswald. He totally fancied himself becoming an undercover operative.
And another link for those who enjoy war stories

Long time since 1935.....
Highway Patrol. Impressionists always said “10-4 10-4” when impersonating Broderick Crawford.
By the way, in England the show was called “Left Side of the Highway Patrol”.
I remember that show from my youth! When we first got a TV back in 1956 it was the first show on. First time I ever heard about Communists.
“American Citizen, Communist, counter-spy!”
Ok, I do remember an earlier serial at the theater in which evil “foreign” sounding men were setting up in Canada to start “The bombardment of American cities”. But the Mounties were on the case!
Herbert Philbrick
Oh I remember all of them! When TV was still fit to watch!
played by Richard Carlson :-)
Not knowing if the Mounties are mentioned or not, but you might be remembering

My dad loved that show. Even as a kid, I thought it was pretty good.
