The National Rifle Association said Thursday that "bump stock" devices used to fully automate rifles "should be subject to additional regulation" in light of the Las Vegas massacre that killed 58 people and injured 489 others.

If this is accurate, I'm resigning my NRA life membership.

If the NRA is really a fundamental rights organization, as they tout themselves, they shouldn't be encouraging the federal government to continue exercising powers (banning firearms and accessories) it has no constitutional authorization to exercise.

Massive, counter productive stupidity.

The article is misquoting the NRA statement.

“National Rifle Association is calling on the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) to immediately review whether these devices [bumpstocks] comply with federal law.”

Later in the statement:

“The NRA believes that devices designed to allow semi-automatic rifles to function like fully-automatic rifles should be subject to additional regulations.”

I may be misinterpreting their (NRA) statement, but they never equate bumpstocks with full auto function.
