I’ve put shutters up 3 times for the last cat 5’s coming my way...none registered over 25 mph gusts. No more hype for me, no more shutters because of the hype. I don’t want to hear it.
It’s a lot easier to put up shutters or plywood than replace an expensive window. I use hardi-backer board (cement board). Each one is marked for a particular window and I use the same screw holes each time. Easy peasy.
