Hard to say where to go. My guess is what you said. Go west and north of Biloxi. Winds may carry this storm right over PCB.

I had to look it up but Opal his Oct. 4, 1995.
It came to land just barely East of Ft. Walton, Beach. My Sister has lived there since around 1960.
It wiped everything out right where it landed but was moving so fast that overall damage wasn’t as great as was feared. Still it did a lot.

You have some time, about 5 days before it gets close enough. We are in Jacksonville near the beaches and used to it. Very well prepared each year. 3 stage plan for shelter in place, short range evac inland go set, long distance evac go set. Shelter in place preparations take less than an hour.

Thanks. You can send all your bottled water to PCB.
I hate this for everybody. These storms are hell.
Sorry to piss you off. I really feel bad for the folks that are going to get whacked by this.

The NHC (that is National Hurricane Center http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/) will likely upgrade Tropical Depression #16 to a Tropical Storm at the 11:00PM update. Waiting and watching.

11,000 killed and 11,000 ‘missing’ (in other words, dead)...that’s 22,000 in MY math class.

...also note that on the Wikipedia page you cite fatalities on the right side of the page are listed as ‘plus or minus 19,325’.
