I like marinara or bolognaise sauces too, but vodka sauce is also very good. I don't know what it is about the vodka, but it give a very nice, rich flavor.

BTW--what did Italians eat before Columbus discovered America?

I’ve often wondered about that too...my guess is they used olive oil, spices,...pesto, etc.,....before the advent of that new world fruit called the tomato.
