When TV was GREAT.
Last night I found a cable channel that shows re-runs of Johnny Carson. 10-11:30 overnight.
Guests were Orson Bean, who spoke about long haired men being “sissies”, and Jack Palance, who told stories of getting drunk while performing Broadway plays. All the while, Carson sitting behind the desk smoking cigarettes, making pithy sexual innuendo about another female guest in a low cut gown.
it was wonderful, refreshing, and sad to think what passes for entertainment now.
I’ve been watching TJ Hooker, which I previously ignored. I love how TJ is always calling the criminals punks and scum! He was shutting down an abortion doctor and told him, “You’ve multilated your last pregnant teenage girl, butcher!” Haha!
Man, that’s great!
It wasn’t so long ago that this was normal behavior. It would be impossible to see or hear such things on TV these days.
It’s sad. Just sad where our society is today.
