Wasn’t he supposed to drive marylinn home after Bobby had her or was it his brothers pt boat that rammed teddy’s car?
I hope that the drowning in the car scene is brutal as can be.
Mary Jo kopechne was not available for comment.
There used to be a website called ytedk that went into all the details of what happened in this incident (as far as can be determined), with parallel timelines, etc. The site wasn't maintained, but there is a rough copy here.
It is a fascinating, if dark, subject for a movie.
The bridge was replaced by a ferry to transport folks/cars across the gap and I couldn't help telling my wife about Teddy's cowardly behavior at that spot so many years ago. Several folks overheard and I got some nasty looks - smiled back at them and asked if I had got the story wrong and they wouldn't meet my eye after that.
Let’s see if it was an honest portrayal of a simple story.
Party at house on Chappy, Ted wants to screw MJ on Beach, drives loaded and too fast loses control on small wooden bridge and skids into water. Too drunk to care about saving her, spends next 12 hours trying to hide what he did from everyone.
There once was a Senator from Mass.
Out in search of same a$$. He lucked up and found it, then f@cked up and drowned it and that was then of his a$$.

I am currently about 1/2 way through reading “Senatorial Privilege.”
One of the things that has struck me is that in most events, you have at least one person that is fighting to do the right thing no matter how much the odds are against them.
I have yet to see that person mentioned in this book.
Chapaquidick never impacted his Presidential ‘aspirations’ it ended his Presidential possibilities.
Will it be a whitewash or a condemnation?
