Playboy in 1953 and Playboy in 1973 are two entirely different things.
Not really. Playboy has always been primarily "butts and boobs" with three fairly tame (and later highly airbrushed) pictorials that made an effort to avoid the more gynecological photographs found in competing magazines. If you wanted to see photos of a naked woman's legs spread wide open, you wouldn't find them in Playboy. Not in 1953, 1973, or even 2013.
