I watched the video. Villanueva really did say that his walking out of the tunnel for the anthem was an accident. He didn’t use the word “accident”, but that’s the way he described it.
Villanueva has just surrendered. It’s all on him.

Right now the whole NFL is a bad joke.
He stood with his army and US citizen teams yesterday. He’s throwing them/us under the bus today for his NFL team.
I’d be willing to bet that not a single army teammate or US citizen told him which team to pick yesterday.
And also that his NFL team made it pretty clear since that the NFL is his team now and he cannot have loyalty to another. And they told him in no ambiguous term that he does not have 1st amendment rights when it comes to supporting other teams. His coach said as much right after the game - and he went to West Point, not _fill_in_the_blank_college_you_hate_ so I’m sure he understood.
Think how this idiot must feel, he paid the price by doing his duty and then shit himself for a bunch of cowards hiding in a tunnel, what a dumbass!
