American football sucks anyway. Takes 3-4 hours to play 4 15 minute quarters. My husband and I watch soccer. The REAL football where 90 minutes of playing takes 90 minutes! None of those steroid enhanced American throwball players could run and keep up with any of those soccer men on the pitch. They’d fall dead of a heart attack before the half time.

Setting aside the lunacy of the NFL, I have to laugh at soccer fans extolling the “ninety minutes of action” on the soccer field. As an aside, why must soccer hipsters use the British term “pitch” when it was borrowed from cricket? Anyway, those ninety minutes of action packed mania include endless bouts of kicking the ball back and forth between two players at midfield, while the rest of the two teams stand virtually motionless, before a pass goes awry and the other team intercepts. And the time it takes to shag the ball, set up the two sides for the inbounds, and other thrilling moments of sheer athletic derring-do.

As for conditioning, how long would a soccer player last being blasted at the line by a 300 lb lineman? Tell me, which is the better conditioned athlete, the sumo wrestler, the sprinter, or the marathon runner?

Same goes for baseball. Ever see an MLB player hit a triple? Have a look at what he is doing while at 3rd base. Hands on knees sucking air like he needs an oxygen tank. I've even seen some that have broken a sweat by sprinting 270 feet.
