I would say that the NFL office, and the owners....can put up with one single season of a 20-percent loss on ticket sales/fan paraphernalia, with a one-third loss on TV revenue. But that’s about it. If we enter the pre-season of 2018, and this knee business continues on...there’s probably three or four owners who will be in financial problems because of contracts and obligations.
Even if these owners with the financial problems try to put their team up for sale....you would have to imagine a 10-percent discount price occurring, and possibly some loss over what they bought the team for.
By mid-summer 2019? Their whole strategy will be hoping on a replacement President, and if Trump runs, and wins? The NFL will likely see three or four teams fold up by fall of 2021. College players have to be viewing this and shaking their heads because it affects their chances in the future.
Many own teams as a show of conspicuous consumption. They don’t care about the losses
To a point..
