Lombardi was a tyrant on the field and those players were his boys. He once went into the locker room after he took the Gen managers job and quit coaching on the field and started at the players for their taking advertising gigs.
When you worked for Coach Lombardi you gave it 100% all of the time every single day you played for him. That man took a poor team with average players and made them great.
