But DDT has been banned for decades.

I’m surprised that there is no black market for the stuff. Surely someone must be able to compound it in a lab somewhere.

I just looked up Homemade DDT and found an article about getting it in Pennsylvania. I got all excited until I realized the article was from 1945. Bummer

It should be fairly easy to synthesize. Dichlorodiphenyltricloroethane ... The halides should be fairly easy to attach. The phenol a little harder, but still doable. Phenol is extremely toxic though, so any basement chemist would have to be careful.
