Will there be sit-ins?

As a lot of stories pointed out in earlier years, Canada Geese didn’t fly up that way until the greenies started raising young ones in different places further East down South. They used to only fly up the middle of the country.
But geese have a habit of returning to where they were born.

A former client who I found a good job for sent me a smoked goose for Christmas one year. Unbelievable.

Will PETA stage mass protests? Will the “celebrities” all join in?

I bet it cost them 15 dollars a bird just to kill them knowing our government.

The way that they capture the geese is beyond cruel. They wait until the molting season during June and July when the geese cannot fly, then round them up, stuff them into crates, separate the goslings from their families. The frantic cheeping of the frightened goslings is heartbreaking. This is all because of Kirstin Gillibrand having railroaded legislation through about 2 years ago allowing USDA murder squads to enter federal preserves to capture Canada geese. They didn't bother to explore other non-lethal methods of goose control suggested by conservation and birding groups, they just went ahead with the trapping and slaughter. It hasn't made a bit of difference in the population, because geese migrating through decide to stay and bring the population right back up.
This is NOT a good program. And this crap about "feeding the hungry" through food pantries is pure baloney. Who wants to eat the flesh of birds which have been exposed to jet fuel, boat residues, pesticides, etc.? No, the garbage about food pantries is just to put a bit of thin window dressing on a very cruel program.
The Canada geese were always voted a favorite bird by my biology students when we took field trips to Jamaica Bay. How could I explain to them that the birds they admired, particularly the babies, would be rounded up and slaughtered at the end of the summer?

The better word for the headline is "harvest" and not "slaughter" per:
"Thousands of airport geese harvested, donated to food pantries in past four years"
But you see, that would clarify what is actually happening instead of making it into a sensational PETA bloodbath.
