My hope is that this overpromising gets the RATs in more trouble with their constituencies than the GOP with theirs. The MSM will try to make it Trump’s and the GOP congress’ fault so he and conservative news sources need to get out in front of that early and often.
A path to citizenship would mean hundreds of thousands additional guaranteed Democratic voters.

You’re splitting hairs here. The political elites of both parties know damn well that any underclass of people such as impoverished know-nothings will gravitate towards voting for democrats. You have to know a little something before you will embrace the conservative side of things.
