I’ll flip off any lazy filth that did not earn their money by working.
I suspect that the "profits" recorded by these guys are just the increase in sales price of the house. They do not include the costs of the fix-up done by the flipper, and certainly do not count the value of the labor of the flipper.
And don't even begin to claim that flippers do not work. I have not flipped houses, but I have invested in distressed properties and then turned them into rentals. A very closely related activity.
First off, I took the risk with my own money of buying an undesirable property with the intention of making it more desirable. Then we had the entire family working on the house every possible moment for months, all the while paying the mortgage and getting no rent at all. Now add up the materials we bought to make the improvements, the contractors we paid for things we couldn't do ourselves, and the project management skills I used to bring everything to completion.
Yes, we made pretty good money doing this, but we saw an opportunity, and had the courage to take advantage of it. With a lot of our own money and effort up front. That same opportunity was freely available to everyone in the entire country.
Don't criticize or disdain the way we built a nice financial future through working and risking our own capital on it.
IMHO, the "lazy filth" are the ones who are unwilling to get out and show some entrepreneurial spirit on their own, but are willing to criticize those who actually build up a business through working and taking well thought out risks.
