Unfortunately, the cylinder eventually broke--cylinders were made of bee's wax and therefore highly breakable. I didn't hear it again until Youtube came along.
Thanks; Jolson’s musical style made a comeback. Replete with a very popular radio show after the movie “The Al Jolson Story” which was about the demise of vaudeville
Which was being replaced by movies. But also recalled Jolson’s movie role in “The JKazz Singer” hit the scene.
Unique in a number of ways it featured actor Larry Parks partraying Jolson and lip synchronizing the songs Jolson who was off camera delivered as he depicted Jolson’s appearance in various venues.
Much later the movie was criticized because of the use and acceptance of “blackface”.
