It means that JJ Watt raised $30 million on his own while the stars went across the three networks last night and only raised $44 million.

Guess the so-called stars didn’t do any matching either.

44 million . . .might replace about 88 of those homes in Houston. Not counting the contents.

When they raise 44 BILLION . . . then that might be news. Until then . . . big whoop.

Most importantly, Watt’s fund-raising costs were non-existent; just appeals on his social-media accounts. Compare that to the millions required to produce the celebrity telethon, plus all the other expenses you don’t normally hear about: transportation to/from the venues for some of the “stars;” food/beverages for the green rooms, and perhaps even hotel accommodations for some of the participants.

Virtually all of the money raised by J.J. Watt will go to the victims. Someone ought to follow up in a few months and see how much of the telethon money actually makes its way to those affected by the storm.
