That $44 Million, if you believe the number, is a gross. Given all the prima donnas involved, I would bet the net is in the neighborhood of $10 million, after everyone is paid and the skimming off the top is complete.
Hell, I bet the green room food and beverage spreads over several different broadcast studio facilities probably totaled a half million expenditure by itself.

Most importantly, Watt’s fund-raising costs were non-existent; just appeals on his social-media accounts. Compare that to the millions required to produce the celebrity telethon, plus all the other expenses you don’t normally hear about: transportation to/from the venues for some of the “stars;” food/beverages for the green rooms, and perhaps even hotel accommodations for some of the participants.
Virtually all of the money raised by J.J. Watt will go to the victims. Someone ought to follow up in a few months and see how much of the telethon money actually makes its way to those affected by the storm.
And if a person weren't listening to Rush (like me), the post looks like a cryptic vanity with no explanation.
