My son, who is a corpsman delivering supplies and relocating people in the eastern Caribbean, doesn’t question that Irma was a Cat 5. I know many outsiders would have preferred to see more destruction and death in Florida, but I thank God that the storm diminished so quickly.

Armchair quarterbacks are a dime a dozen, but this storm was one for the history books. It’s still affecting both coasts of Florida and other Atlantic states.

I am firmly convinced it was the hand of God that spared FL.

There is no reason otherwise why it should not have been everything they were forecasting.

the many small slight changes that happened that diminished the impact of the storm seem a bit to convenient to be just coincidence.

I don’t think there could have been many other ways in which this storm could lose so much strength otherwise.
