No. But the Environmental Defense Fund - an “environmental political agenda outfit” is notoriously biased and selects biased “researchers”; and more than one climate watch web site has discovered and analyzed NOAA and NASA fudging of climate data.

Choose your sources and avoid those with an agenda.

I am sorry you thought my private message was an attempt to intimidate. I had read that there was some sort of controversy over Sunken Civ’s departure which is why I private messaged and put a question mark after that statement, but since you have made it public, can anyone explain what happened? I have really missed all the Catastrophism and GGG posts he set out, and was hoping you or someone might continue those ping lists.

There was a huge earthquake in Alaska a few decades ago, also in Chile, the one that killed so many people in South East Asia a decade ago, not to mention the one in Japan where we saw the effects of a giant tsunami. Pinatubo was as big as Krakatoa, but not in the middle of a heavily traveled strait and next to an embayment that funneled the tsunami to great heights as also happened in the Alaska quake.

Google giant earthquakes for each of those areas. I would, but must get some sleep.

I like to check out things like tree ring data, and ice core studies, rather than just try to go by historical accounts.

Again, we must agree to disagree.

The rise in “flood footage” directly tracks the rise/invention of movie film then video tape and took a HUGE jump with the development of smartphones with cameras and social media/You Tube. Actual flooding not so much. Remember the USA had a record dearth of landfalling hurricanes before Harvey (12 years w/o a landfalling Cat 3 or 4).

Note that there are studies in the cited references which independently validate a rise in rainfall/severe storms. I agree that we all see more footage now that so many have a cell phone.

Well, tree ring data has its limitations; for example, it is sensitive to temperature (study by Michael Mann, Jose Fuentes and Scott Rutherford in journal Nature Geoscience suggests that trees in some altitudes stop growing when temperatures sink below a certain threshold and only resume growth when it warms up, throwing off validity) and certainly ice core samples would not be useful in the regions I’m hi-lighting re the past 50-100 years. We all have our preferences. I will take first person measurements, analysis, and photography over tree rings, and that’s just my preference.
