Mark Levin: "Trump threw wall leverage ‘out the window’ on debt deal" Audio in link
Conservative Review ^ | 9/6/2017 | Nate Madden

Posted on 09/06/2017 5:11:21 PM PDT by TakebackGOP

"Just hours after news broke that President Trump had defied conservatives and Republicans by cutting a stop-gap debt limit and budget deal with Democrat leadership Wednesday, President Trump not only turned his back on the people who elected him, but also gave away his biggest bargaining chips for a wall on the southern border, says Mark Levin." The main criticism of Trump and the wall and DACA starts at 3:40.

Trump just demonstrated to McTurtle and Lyin’ Ryan that they are not essential to progress.

Sure. Worship president pen and a phone. Same song as the last eight years. Just a different verse.

The ones that said Trump would never appoint a conservative to SCOTUS.

Would Never Pull out of the Paris Accords.

Would NEVER get the travel ban through.

Would NEVER do all manner of things...that he ends up doing.

All the while demanding EVERYTHING be done in the first 5 months...because they represent the wing of the right that has listened to so much talk radio, they talked themselves out of the fact that there is real opposition that he has to contend with that isnt dispatched of by just delivering a “brilliant commentary” on the radio.

The problem is that there is barely a GOP. What we have is a congress controlled by the democrat party wherein it’s liberal wing (headed by NAncy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer) is deadlocked with its moderate wing (Ryan and McConnel.

They’re not going to do that if they won’t build a wall.

Agreed, but it's fun to wish the government would crack down on those hiring illegals, and to make it easier to verify if somebody is an illegal.

People really don't know just how much is spent on Congress, making sure that Congress and the White House don't harm the influx of illegals.

I'm fully confident that a few years from now, I can still pull up to a day labor camp or a certain part of a Home Depot or wherever, and hire some guys to do some cash-only work for the day cheaper than hiring licensed and insured contractors. Not that I'm going to - I have already found the companies and individuals I need to do stuff like a new roof or landscaping or whatever, that I can trust and build up a relationship with over the years. But I know that option is still there.

18 months, three months, what about dealing with spending, right now?

We've been kicking the can down the road for far too long. Yes. We have been kicking it down the road. But the GOP has been kicking it down the road long before Trump was elected. Blame should be placed on Ryan and McConnell. Budgets and spending cuts start with them.

Of course people who want to kick the can down the road for 18 months(McTurdle and Ryan) instead of three months is more to blame. But as I said, we've been kicking the can down the road for far too long. It's always something. What will be different in three months?

The typical meltdown-queens of the NeverTrump.

They are out today and still got nothing.

If Trump gets these clowns to reauthorize and argue for a new debt ceiling every 90 days without passing a real budget, he paints these clowns no better than Dems and uncouth spenders putting this nation further and further in debt.

Cantorizing a few to several swamp creature in the upcoming primaries may straighten them out.

When is the wall going to be funded if he keeps pushing it back?

Easy question. Trump said today that “border security” would be part of a DACA resolution.

I would think Trump’s leverage will come in six months when DACA is due. I will give you DACA and you pay for the wall.

For one, 18 months will put the CR past primaries and I think the general
elections, thus allowing the GOP not having to deal with wall funding,
and other Trump policies.

A 3 month CR does provide the opportunity for Trump to deal with
Wall Funding and some of the other promises he has made(He has kept
many of those promises without the help of congress)
Notice I said an opportunity, not a certainty.

Think of it as Trump buying more time.
An 18 month would almost guarantee wall funding
would never be done. And probably many more issues.

I figured Levin would do a knee jerk and not analyze properly.

Yep. Same old, same old. GOP plantation porch conervatievs love to bark and strut about. Yet they haven’t delivered since Reagan. The idea that suddenly conservatives were going to get regular order but Trump cut them off at the knees is hilarious.

An 18 month continuing resolution as proposed by Ryan is the very definition of beltway business as usual. Conservatives would have ended up with nothing, as usual, had we supported their beltway kabuki dance.

BTW, I wonder where Cantor is these days - living on K street? He probably lobbying, advising, and living in Ryan's office.
