At least in Burma they fight back. If this crap happened in New Jersey would get a half dozen arrests and a whole lot of hand wringing about a “backlash” which is what self defense against Jihadis is called.

And backlash is just old time revenge. The modern state is supposed to be, in part, a compact with its population to take the responsibility of justice for crimes committed out of the hands of the people, the victims of crimes, and reserve it to the State whose juscice is to be imparted without emotion and thus more apt to be Just.

Now more and more such crimes are protected by law and not prosecuted or even taken notice of. Without total suppression of the people that will bring back justice as a responsibility of the victims i.e. revenge. Civilization is backpedaling.
