Exactly.
Wasn’t the book about children going feral?
Is the movie going to be about adults?
“The female-led Lord of the Flies wouldn’t ever happen because women would just branch off into their own respective groups peacefully”.
This person forgot her satire tag.
The Japanese version of Battle Royal was the first thing that popped into my mind too... GMTA ;^)
“The hags are complaining that women would never de-generate as the book had the boys do.”
I’d argue they would degenerate much quicker, since they would be less likely to be able to do some of the basic stuff the boys in the book did to survive, like hunting boars with spears, etc.
I like your thinking!
The 1960 version (which suffers from having been made on a shoestring budget) was the more faithful to the story of the two I’ve seen.
Some may not appreciate the fact that it was also true to the nature of boys with regard to clothing. The youngest ones shed theirs entirely, while the older ones (even those who most reverted to savagery) retained them even as they fell to tatters.
Parents will recognize this behavior.
She has the conch!
Oh yes they would. It would be a social justice dystopian nightmare.

Somebody suggested pillow fights on another thread. And spankings. There would have to be spankings.
Yeah we already know a bunch of wimmins will disorganise if there isn't a man there to tell them what to do. It wouldnl't be unexpected. (Or should I read the article?)
Maybe they’re all transgendered girls, who are really boys, so they act like boys.
