Bring Out Your Dead

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

I agree !
and many of the homeless are ex-veterans who have PTSD (psychological issues)
who are mal-adjusted, or have not adjusted back into citizen life ( due to drugs, alcohol, or other addictive behaviors).
To my mind, our veterans and native homeless need more attention and healthcare
than inviting in foreign, illegal aliens who are financial opportunists ( be they middle-Easterners, or Hispanics).

By allowing homeless in great numbers, third world diseases WILL ARRIVE. These people live worse than people in third world countries with basic sewers. Because the homeless have NO PLUMBING OR SEWER SYSTEM. Why do we allow this?

And in California, unfortunately the RAT State Legislature a few years ago, downgraded a bunch of laws regarding the homeless and their “use of property not their own” from misdemeanors to “infractions.” As a consequence, when you call the cops to get them of of your property, all they can do is make them leave.

In large part, the victims were homeless people who have had to contend with a lack of 24-hour public restrooms, even though hand-washing is one of the best defenses against infection.

Somehow, I doubt that the presence of 24-hour public restrooms would encourage the homeless to wash their hands - many or most of the truly homeless have mental issues and personal hygiene isn't at the top of their priority list.
