North Korea launched at least one missile (and possibly more) over North Japan, specifically, the island of Hokkaido.
Here, in red, is Hokkaido, a very populated island (5+ million) almost directly connected to mainland Japan:
This is a belligerent Act of War. To put it in more relatable terms, it is if I pulled a pistol, aimed it in the general direction of your head, and fired -- purposefully missing by twelve inches.
There are rumors that FatBody Jong-un is having some internal power struggles, and is purging his capitol city of people.
But whatever the situation in Pyongyang, the truth of the matter is that North Korea just committed a true Act of War.
Developing....
I’m not all that sure I’d really want them with several hundred; after they take out China they might start wanting a rematch with us :-)
But hey, China wants a proxy war, Japan’s got game.
“I’m keeping my eyes peeled”
Doesn’t that hurt?
Seriously, thanks for keeping those of us in BFE with no cable informed.

The Pentagon is investigating.
A senior U.S. official said that there had been some movement suggesting an intermediate missile was being prepped but there was no immediate confirmation about how far this missile flew.
Please be so kind as to add me to the ping list.
This calls for a FIRM response. Like take them out and take us out of the worthless UN.
Of Japan decided today to go nuclear theyd have missiles ready by Friday. By next Wednesday the Hello Kitty version would be on the shelves.
Racist
No one here has suggested we shoot it out in mid air. What about in the launch?
We can debate the numbers, but the concept is valid.
I wouldn’t be shocked to learn (not that I will, short of mushroom clouds) that they’ve already made the decision.
If we are not going to do anything, let’s just come out and tell the world. Rex Tillerson is in a dream sate if he thinks “this is the sign we were looking for”
I honestly don't believe they need to be given one. I think they have the macro components assembled and on shelves, and that they only heed to put the trigger on the shell, so to speak.
Untested? Sure, but I wouldn't bet against the Japs to fire one off and have it turn lil' fatboy into another fatboy mushroom cloud on the first attempt.
Do we have a functioning anti missile defense system ? Are we capable of shooting down NORK missiles? THEN WHY THE HELL ARN’T WE DOING IT??? Do We need for one of the damned things to land on Tokyo THEN we respond? Where the hell is the RED LINE on NORK?
No need we have plenty.
Remember, the uranium gun type bomb Little Boy was “tested” in Hiroshima. Trinity was a test of the plutonium implosion design used at Nagasaki. The first 3 nukes all went off as planned. I’m sure the Japs can match that record.
Their missiles have gone over Japan twice before... first time was in the 90’s
But would you hit it?
“Are we capable of shooting down NORK missiles?”
Answer: Not every time. The current technology isn’t perfect, so I just imagine we don’t want to risk taking a shot and missing at this point in time. Getting one in early boost phase would be better, but to do that we would have to shoot it over NK.
